Clytemnestra is the wife of Agammemnon, Trojan War hero. She is the ultimate adulteress. She took a lover, Aegisthus, while Agammemnon was off fighting the Troan War. She and her paramour plotted to kill him upon his return and murdered him at his victory feast.
