"Inspired by Elsa Schiaparelli, William Wegman and Josef Beuys, this particular installation, '2 parts Elsa Schiaparelli, 1 part William Wegman, 1 part Josef Beuys and a dash of Martha Stewart' is influenced by my background in fashion and visual merchandising.

The piece uses various images and techniques to juxtapose themes of 'real' and 'fake'. In several images the Human form is digitally introduced into the natural landscape. In another, Leopards and 'Fauna' are shown camouflaged by trees, demonstrating their "alikeness." Still others introduce fake fur items onto real fur backgrounds. And of course, there is a series of 'Dog in Cat's Clothing'."

"I would say that your piece was the most original work shown. Not just because you added media to the frames; not just because your subject matter was innovative and provocative (What would real animals think of animal-based fashion? What is the human's place in the animal world?) and not just because of your use of color/motif/backgrounds/etc., but because it was more complex, being a multi-media 3-D installation. By recreating our ways of bringing-the-jungle-into-our-homes, you call us to question the ways in which we try to reinvent our place in nature; ironically, we do this by use of the most extreme artifice."
