She finally makes it to the 57th flight of steps where she is awaited by her secret lover whom she had been seeing for over four years now. He carries her up to the rooftop where he begins to tell her something he couldn't in his letters, on the phone, even in the bedroom. So he starts to whisper in her ear, "I am going to leave her, and I want you to..." when she decided it was time for her to let him know how she felt about him at this stage and pushed him off the edge. Because she was incognito, she never got caught and went home to make a nice cake to celebrate.-Melissa Fridy, 18

The light shines just above me, as darkness I walk about.
The light it does not touch me, I cannot figure out.
My glasses do deceive me, in darkness hide the dark.
The mysteries await me in ventures very stark.

To climb these stairs in shadows, the world outside awaits.
I am ready for these changes, I cannot hesitate.
For if coldness nips my fingers and wind blows through my hair,
I may welcome back the darkness, knowing what I was in there.

Still I'll climb these stairways, knowing what it is at all,
a chance for light to touch me and ever to enthrall.
The light shines just above me , I need to make it mine.
So when the light does touch me, I keep it for all time.-John Dexter, 42
